Recently, I went to my sister’s wedding in Las Vegas. It was wonderful! Before she left on her honeymoon, I gave her a few simple pieces of Everyday Jewelry in hopes it would be all she needed for a beach vacation in Hawaii (plus her gorgeous new wedding rings supplied by the groom, of course). A few of these pieces are photographed below. Easy jewelry to dress up or down. Simple, colorful, light-weight and neutral enough to work with all of what she brought. If it were me, I would also include a watch, my little pair of studs and the moonstone ring I wear daily too – and that’s it. Your covered. Done.

Only bring your really nice jewels on a trip if absolutely necessary for a particular occasion. Jewelry can be easily stolen or misplaced while traveling. Take your fun stuff and leave your good stuff at home in the safe. You’ll feel stress free! And that’s the point, right. Happy Vacationing!

My second favorite was Emma Stone’s deep raspberry and plum gown with bejeweled belt. Such a bold statement! Artistic, functional, striking but not over the top. That belt pulled her whole look together and focused our eye on her small defined waist. If you have broaches that you are not wearing because they seem dated then find a way to attach them on a belt you own and wear them in this way in your everyday life. Jewelry is meant to catch the eye and finish accessorizing an outfit. Use the cool one-of-a-kind pins your grandmothers handed down to you in a new youthful way like Emma did. Glamorous!

If there is one item of jewelry that I get more compliments on than anything else, it’s the moonstone ring I wear every day. I couldn’t find a ring I loved that went with everything, so… I designed one! (It’s the ring above, second from left.) It’s large enough that it stands alone and makes a huge statement. I adore it!

With the holidays coming, cocktail rings are a go to accessory. I prefer them to be worn on the middle finger on your right hand. That way, when you shake someone’s hand, they’re bound to notice your awesome ring and make note of your impeccable taste!

If there’s one piece I typically know a woman owns but rarely wears, it’s her diamond stud earrings. The standard gift from boyfriends past, or maybe a special gift for a 21st birthday, they’re a beautiful piece but don’t get any action. And… what’s the point of keeping them if you’re not going to wear them, right?! Well think again!

Updating a pair of classic diamond earrings is so easy. Recently, I worked with a client to update her pair. They were sitting unworn but she didn’t want to get rid of them for sentimental reasons. So, we took the small diamond out of the setting and reset them in 14k gold with a modern setting. They’re now about the size of a pencil eraser and are her go to, everyday earring.

Definitely an affordable, chic and eco-friendly alternative to the notion of out with the old, in with new!

Ever wonder why you could look at a picture of Jackie Kennedy Onassis or Katharine Hepburn and it looks like it could have been taken today? These women embody the notion that classic is always trendy.

They wore simple silhouettes, in neutral colors, paying attention to their body shape and what worked for their lifestyle. Rarely, would you see them in over the top cuts or colors. They always looked pulled together and stylish!

I personally love this style of dress because it makes planning for special events easier and getting dressed each day a breeze! Mens wear inspired trousers, cigarette pants, riding boots, 3/4 length sleeve blouses and flats are staples in my closet. The finishing touch for me though is always jewelry. My favorite pieces to pair with classic outfits are a simple gold chain bracelet or knock them dead earrings worn with no other accessories.
